Question 1

Can I hire a laundromat location in Sydney for a film or photography shoot?

Accepted Answer

The Laundry Foundry at Shop 1/133 Botany Road, Waterloo is available to discuss location hire for film, TVC, photography and commercial shoots. Share your dates, production type, crew and requirements by phone or email so we can discuss suitability and availability.

Question 2

What are the hours for filming at The Laundry Foundry?

Accepted Answer

The laundromat's trading hours are 6am–11pm, seven days a week. Shoot times and any exclusive access are subject to arrangement and confirmed availability; the regular trading hours do not guarantee a private or exclusive shoot window.

Question 3

What equipment is at the Waterloo laundromat location?

Accepted Answer

The floor has Huebsch washers in 9kg, 14kg, 18kg and 27kg sizes, gas dryers and folding benches. Whether particular equipment can be used in a shoot needs to be discussed in advance and confirmed for your booking.

Question 4

Can the washers and dryers run during filming?

Accepted Answer

Equipment use is considered as part of each production enquiry. Please outline the action, sound and operating requirements; a recce can help confirm what is practical for your shoot.

Question 5

Can we have exclusive use of the laundromat?

Accepted Answer

Exclusivity is not automatic. It depends on the requested dates, times and operational requirements, and must be discussed and agreed before a shoot.

Question 6

What should a production scout confirm on a recce?

Accepted Answer

A recce is the best way to confirm dimensions, sightlines, power and lighting needs, loading access, equipment use, sound and any other production requirements. Please discuss your intended setup with us before booking.

Question 7

Is parking available for production vehicles?

Accepted Answer

Street parking nearby is time-limited and subject to current signs: Botany Road has 1-hour parking 10am–3pm and from 7pm; Wellington and Cope Streets have 2-hour parking; all-day parking is further along Cope Street. Parking conditions can change, and space for a production convoy is not guaranteed.

Question 8

How do I get a location hire quote?

Accepted Answer

Pricing is tailored to the production and requested access, so please enquire for a quote. Call 0494 086 114 or email info@thelaundryfoundry.com.au with shoot dates and call times, crew size, production type, equipment needs, exclusivity request and any other requirements.
